At the side of the Blessed Virgin, the only icon o At the side of the Blessed Virgin, the only icon of a saint placed at the holy altar of Bethlehem Monastery was that of St. Charbel. Before my stay, I brought this larger picture of him along with the smaller photo given to me by my father. I could not have known that I would also find St. Charbel there. When I arrived and saw his picture, I knew that my parents were with me. One day when I was leaving the chapel, I ran into Fr. Michael. Seeing the picture of St. Charbel I was carrying, he asked how I came to know this holy saint. I told him that it was my father who brought St. Charbel into my home. Fr. Michael asked if I could remain where I was because he had a holy relic of a bone fragment belonging to Charbel that he could bless me with. A few minutes later, he placed the holy relic on my forehead and prayed an ancient prayer of blessing. I cried through it feeling such gratitude for the devoted life my parents led. Was it my dad also at work here in bringing about this blessing? I believe yes it was…St. Charbel pray for us.
